Reading Autoportrait is an astonishingly intimate experience. It engages me to meditate on communication. It reminds me that writing and reading bring two or more selves together, and it scans the lines between those selves. Levé likely would bristle at these sentences of mine. The current of his easy, concrete declaratives opens up corporeal folds, crevices, scars where subjectivity and objectivity— uncertainty and finitude— meet. Briefly.
