Definitely not a love story. I already feel like I want and need to re-read this book. I went in knowing not much, other than expecting to feel a little angered by a lot of the tropes I had heard about. It didn’t even anger me. God I LOVED this book. The prose is absolutely perfect, the characters were so incredibly real, and although parts of this book were incredibly dated, it is definitely on its way to being one of my top books of the year.
