“You’re my favorite notification.”
TLDR: I loved this dual timeline second chance romance. It had me feeling some things. The cheeky banter had me laughing and smiling. The sizzling chemistry had me swooning and blushing. I absolutely loved Amelie and Ian’s unconventional path to love and each other. I adore Letizia’s writing. I will read whatever she writes. Highly recommend!
This might be one of my favorite dual timelines. It’s so well written that is had me hanging on after every chapter. There was the tiny temptation a few times to skip to the next “today” or “past” chapter because I just had ot know what happened. As tempting as it was I did not, but it did cause me to absolutely devour this book.
It’s tempting to spill all my thoughts on here but I don’t want to spoil it. It’s such a beautifully woven story of disappointment, hurt, heartbreak, wanting, waiting, self-discovery, passion, and love. Add in tension, the SPICE, text messages, puns, food, unpopular opinions, and witty banter. OMG, and the BUTTER scene. Y’all, it’s all SO SO GOOD. This is definitely a slow burn but it is without a doubt worth the wait. Those last few chapters had me in a puddle.
Tropes + things:
🧈 Dual timeline
🧈 Second chance
🧈 Friends to lovers
🧈 Right person, wrong time
🧈 He falls first and hard
🧈 Forced proximity
🧈 Slow burn
This is Book 2 in the series. It can be read as a standalone but highly recommend reading DFSP. The epologue will be even more satisfying.
