A book that does make you feel like you're meeting aliens, exploring some really cool ideas on sentience/intelligence, how our perception of the world isn't necessarily 'reality' and can be altered. Sometimes devolved into too much jargon and circular contemplations on these ideas. It also was MUCH scarier than I expected, some real cosmic horror. Also, vampires!
