Bone Crier's Moon
by Kathryn Purdie
I'm not a huge fantasy fan but I occasionally find things that interest me. In the case of this book, the relationships were really the thing I was invested in rather than the magic system. Magic systems depending on how they're presented and explained can be a hit or a miss for me.
Someone described the characters as melodramatic and yes I definitely agree with that. They were all teenagers being driven by prejudice and that causes a lot of confusion when they all meet. It seemed to go along rather predictably at first and then shoehorned a lot in at the end in order to set up the next book in the series, but it felt too rushed.
Overall 3 stars. It wasn't boring but it's not my cup of tea.
