Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

2.0

Not sure why I put 2 stars instead of one, I guess I don't want to devalue the work of this author so much. The second instalment reads lukewarm, it's very very unconvincing and predictable, all of the new characters weren't established and thus I didn't feel any connection with them and the love triangle was unnecessary.

I knew from the very first moment that the trilogy rests on various tropes and cliches used in YA lit but the flip of the premise and the beautiful writing kept me glued on the page. Unfortunately, these two cannot account for a positive review for the second book of the series.

I have already purchased the third and final one and I'll listen to it for the sake of finishing the trilogy. I am truly disappointed though because the premise is there, the intrigue is there but there's just too much blabbering, repetition and predictability to convince me that this book was worth to be hailed as a successful sequel.
