Snoopy's Guide to the Writing Life by Barnaby Conrad, Monte Schulz
1.0
Reading this book reminded me that I never really thought Peanuts was all that funny. Once in a while there's an amusing strip, but mostly I'm left staring blankly at the page. So it's weird to read a book that spends so much time praising it and saying how amazing and brilliant it is. I guess it's just not really my style.
One or two of the writing tips were good, but mostly I found myself slogging through them. There's a lot of stuff that doesn't really pertain to me (like how to write cookbooks) and a lot of advice that I consider to be pretty obvious (like how you should try not to be boring) or advice that I simply didn't agree with (like suggesting romances had to find ways to keep the lovers physically apart for the whole story).
