Cowboy Car by Jeanie Franz Ransom

5.0

I actually won this book through a Goodreads Giveaway, which is one of my favorite ways to get a new book.

"Ever since he was knee-high to his daddy's hubcaps, Little Car wanted to be a Cowboy."

And of course everyone told him that a car couldn't be a cowboy. This is a timely tale of a young car with big dreams who refused to believe that he didn't have what it takes to achieve his dreams. Hard work and perseverance will always win out other people's definitions of what is possible. As inspiring as Little Car is, the artwork is what caught my attention first with this book and it is sure to be what draws in young ones as well. Lively, colorful illustrations, that take me back to my own childhood with a nod to the great artwork of kid-lit greats like Curious George, keep the story moving along. Little ones will delight in following along Little Car's adventure as they watch him master the skills of a cowboy with his determined expression and his ten gallon hat.
