MY standout character for this book is Genya. She is arguably the most interesting person in the shadow and bone series aside from Aleksander and Nikolai. She has this way of radiating power even though she has been brought so low so many times. She's also got two of the most powerful quotes in the whole series: "Be careful of powerful men" and "I am not ruined, I am ruination." Like babe, that's metal as fuck. While her power does not lie in her fighting ability it's everything she does behind the scenes that don't get much credit but she is so integral to the execution and moral of the group, and her and David's relationship is the most wholesome thing in the whole series and they, especially her, deserved better.
The very end of this trilogy is disappointing; I hate the "FMC loses her power in the end" trope but I get it, it's just not my cup of tea. Overall, this was a great series, I will be re-reading it at some point.
