Horde by Ann Aguirre

4.0

Horde was a great ending to the razorland series. I would have loved to give it five stars, but there were annoying punctuation errors and confusing pronoun usage that often jarred me from the story. Other than that--I loved it! Deuce and Fade did not disappoint and you only grow to love all the characters more. There was a huge amount of death in this book but I was glad that few of the deaths were characters I had grown to know and like (although a few that I had grown to known and like, sadly, did die).
I loved the amount of action in the story. You would think the constant fighting and battling would become repetitive but Ms. Aguirre does a wonderful job of varying the fighting so that you learn something knew--about the enemy, about a character, about the surroundings--each time.
Coming up on the final battle at the end, I was worried about who would not be returning safe and whole, but I was not disappointed and the story came to a nice, if not a little too neat, ending.
An intriguing and enjoyable series that I am sad to see end--but what a great series it was!
