Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

4.0

This was my first Abby Jimenez book and it was also my first ARC! I completely see the hype with her books! I would definitely give this book a 4.5 out of 5. The representation of being raised by a single parent, being in foster care, mental health and the reality of how it affects your day to day life and relationships, and the ability to work through it all was SO relatable. But not just relatable, it was realistic! This book touches you in a way that’s more than just a romance read. I absolutely loved the characters of Emma, Justin and Maddy. I would advise to double check the TW before reading because there are some pretty deep moments throughout the story that can hit home.
