Song of the Forever Rains
by E.J. Mellow
This is an enchanting story with a whole lot of potential for the following books. As a debut book it's spectacular, but there are some small snags in the story, and at least one typo that threw me off. Because it wasn't prominent and the story was more encapsulating than not I loved it. I enjoyed the dule versions of the Bassett family in the thief kingdom and in Aadilor. I also enjoyed the sisters and how they are all very different but extremely powerful together. The perspective of this book being the youngest Bassett who's power lies with her voice making her have the most volatile magic. At the same time it shows a lot of character development as you learn about her growing up til her mission to help save this city drowning in an endless rain. It leaves it with a happy ending, but loose ends that will lead for the next sisters story which, based on this story, I have high hopes for.
