The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America by Erik Larson

informative reflective slow-paced

while i am not a fan of true crime, i was very disappointed to discover that the “devil” in the book title is probably less than 1/4 of the subject in this book. it turns out the planning of a late 1800s fair is more mundane and uninteresting than the story of a serial killer running rampant at said fair, but unfortunately, that was the topic this poorly named book decided to focus on.
