The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
4.0

I’m so satisfied with this book and how emotional, funny and chaotic it is, even if it took me months to finish it.

Everyone in Satans gang is so charismatic, they bring this amazing energy to every chapter that it’s at the same time creepy and addictive? Behemoth my beloved.
Also all the other characters are interesting as well as their misfortunes (oh Homeless I adore you, Margarita is a true selfless lover, and the master was a real artist)
Incredible book and an incredible portrayal of Russia under one of its darkest eras, the criticism through art and religion is impeccable, it’s such a powerful novel for its context alone.
I have to admit that the first encounter between Pontius Pilate and Yeshua made me cry and is now one of my favorite parts of the novel, god I miss my grandpa so badly.
Can’t recommend it enough.
