The Taiga Syndrome by Cristina Rivera Garza

challenging dark slow-paced

2.5

I felt mostly confused and felt that this book was aimless. It could have been a great. It’s about mystery, finding people, but also the world around the main character is not what it seems and strange things are happening, which creates a hint of madness. There are hints to fairy tales, but I don’t see how it’s connected or how it adds to the story. The writing is peculiar, with lots of repetition and weird sentences. It was fine enough to finish it, but I don’t think I got it…
