This book is incredibly fast paced, descriptive with vivid passages throughout. It is a book about a mother and her young son trying to flee from one of the biggest and most violent cartels. If you have experienced any kind of violent trauma, escape exercise self care if you choose to read this book. This book is filled with a lot of love but it is action packed and violent. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe through each chapter. I highly recommend it but approach with care. Right from the first sentences it goes and doesn't stop until the very last and I am not sure how I got my eyes to move so fast across the page.
Graphic: Child death, Death, Gun violence, Violence, Death of parent, and Murder
