3.0

Initially Mr Cave appears as a very over protective father who has experienced personal tragedy and wants to keep his daughter safe. Parents reading this will relate to the difficult teenage years when children want independence. As the novel progresses however Mr Cave's behaviour becomes obsessive and takes a darker tone. Ever the unreliable narrator he justifies his actions but there are times when I gasped and cringed. The unravelling of the story was surprising but I will not give any spoliers.
