The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis
3.0

Love it for its nostalgia. Every bit of that fun tale of adventure and friendship that I remember from my childhood. All that being said I’m happy I reread it as an adult and can look at C.S. Lewis’s work with a more critical eye, the biggest takeaway being that the racism and nationalism from his time are blatantly obvious in his work. I will definitely still read this to my children as my parents did to me because it’s an excellent little side quest in the Narnia universe, but also to use as a teaching example of the importance of context and a critical eye when consuming media.
