Weirdly, for a book called "Wolf-Speaker", there were not enough wolves! The focus was much more on dealings with plots by humans and with immortal beings like the basilisk. I really liked the scenes in which Daine entered the minds of animals, and started shape-shifting, but I found that the magical discoveries were eclipsed by a complicated treason plots that weren't so interesting. Still love Daine though, and want to continue this series!
