Chris Impey looks at various ways Homo sapiens could end, as well as the likely way(s) planet Earth, the Sun, our galaxy and even our universe will also die off. It’s serious, but it’s also fun popular science.
Two minor caveats. One, measurements are all in metric. No big deal for me, but just a heads-up. Two, Impey was partially funded by the Templeton Foundation. I saw no quasi-religious bias in anything he said, but it did make my read fairly “closely” at times, not for angels or something, but, say, teleology via the back door.
