The Agathas
by Liz Lawson, Kathleen Glasgow
3.75
Alice is a rich girl—like her parents got her a horse for her birthday type rich. Iris, on the other hand, is struggling to get enough money to help herself and her mom escape from the situation that she can’t even bring herself to think about. Both girl’s worlds collide after Alice pulls an Agatha Christie and disappears for 5 days…only to come back to a town that hates her and parents that force her into tutoring with Iris. One day, though, Alice’s ex-best friend disappears. Is she just doing what Alice already did, or has something bad happened? Can Iris and Alice figure out the truth?
I really liked the references to Agatha Christie novels throughout the book. This reminded me a lot of Need by Joelle Charbonneau and You’ll be the death of me by Karen McManus. Only complaint is..why is it always the counselor/teacher lady?
