This book was good for a lot of reasons. I have SO been looking forward to its release after loving book 1, and was glad to be back in the world with Serena & co. There’s some great progress and/or resolutions for several characters that seemed very fitting. The world expands to introduce new characters outside of those in the pack, and there’s some scenes that will really rip your heart out.
However, it felt waaaay too long in the middle. The journey they go on was so long and I was ready to get back to the action. Yes, a lot of important things happen that were crucial to the plot, but I had a hard time plugging in to the story and characters. The group splits up on separate quests for a while and I was just so desperate for them to get back together.
Now, the ending saved the book. I can’t say more because (spoilers), but I will absolutely be continuing the series when book 3 comes out. I need to see what happens with Serena and a certain character!!!
