Peep Show
by Isabella Starling
The story wasn’t the greatest but I loved that mental health was front and center throughout the whole book. It depicted very real mental health situations with the utmost accuracy based on personal experience. It’s scary and can be very debilitating. The H is agoraphobic and has OCD-like tendencies. He has a hard time leaving house and feels very isolated. One day he sees a chick that lives across the street. They develop a relationship over the phone. He finds that he really likes her and would do anything for her (you know how I feel about Insta-love, lol). But she forces him to get out of his comfort zone even though it’s scary AF. The h is a trust-fund baby but she herself is “broken.” He trusts her and lets her in and they both work to heal each other. We do learn his backstory but it’s not until the end - I wish it was told earlier so we’d get more context on some of behaviors and tendencies.
