I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

5.0

Breathtaking. As with her first novel, "The Sky is Everywhere", Jandy Nelson takes a somewhat cheesy sounding premise [in this case, a twin brother and sister who have grown from being incredibly close to barely speaking following a series of slowly revealed tragedies] and produces a novel that deftly explores what it means to belong to another person, the persistent presence of grief, and all the unexpected and roundabout ways we become the people we are meant to be.

Enchanting and moving, wild and inspiring, with rich and vivid prose so alive it might melt your bones, "I'll Give You the Sun" is my first must-read of the year.
