A bit more tempered than many romcoms. Persistent mentality of “friends with benefits” for most of book, despite obvious underlying “idiots in love” makes for an uncomfortable/fatiguing tension. Not sure if this was intentional; not detrimental but made it less enjoyable and more tiring to read/feel along.
Somewhat unusual themes of complex family dynamics, running and mental health, environmental engineering and humanitarianism.
