WOW. I’m so mad at myself for not reading this sooner. It’s been on my shelf for over a year and it was perfect in every way.

Immediately you are thrust into the world. A world where death has been conquered. The only way to control the population growth is through the scythes— those chosen to glean at random with no bias or malice.

Citra and Rowan are chosen as apprentices to Scythe Faraday. Neither of them want this life, but is that not the very reason why they should be chosen?

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dystopian novels. This book throughly impressed me and I devoured it. I was constantly being thrown off and unsure what was going to happen next. This book is eventful, but with a purpose.
