Real Queer America: Lgbt Stories from Red States by Samantha Allen

adventurous emotional hopeful reflective fast-paced

3.5

Created in response to """coastal elites""" dismissing the midwest and south and its inhabitants, it was difficult to pin down who this book was created for. As a queer person who lives in the midwest, I wanted more in-depth analysis and examination of why queer people lived where they did. It was sweet and accessible, but I wanted more than just "hey look, there's a tight-knit LGBTQ+ community in this midwestern city!"
