Take a Chance by Abbi Glines

5.0

I've been excited for this book since reading Grant and Harlow's parts in Forever Too Far!

Grant was captivated by Harlow the moment he saw her at Rush and Blaire's engagement party. But then they both realised who each other was and the massive connection they had to one another - Nan, Harlow's half-sister and Grant's bed buddy. Harlow doesn't want anything to do with someone who got mixed up in her sister's venom. When Grant visits her in LA, she can't help but look past his relationship with her sister. But when Grant is pulled back to Rosemary Beach after a horrific event, Harlow never hears from him. So when she arrives at Nan's to live for a few months, she hadn't expected to see Grant leaving Nan's room, especially after everything he'd said to her in LA. Grant is determined he's worth Harlow taking a chance with him, but he must get over his own fears in order to let her in.

The moment Grant and Harlow appeared in Forever Too Far, I knew I'd love this book and their story. I loved getting to know Harlow in that book, so was excited to finally be getting inside her head, as well as Grant's. The are my second favourite characters/couples after Rush and Blaire of course.

After the events at the end of Simple Perfection, it was interesting to see how the characters were dealing with what had happened. Of course, I'm not going to spoil anything, but it continued to break my heart for the main character involved. Seeing Grant trying to overcome his fears of falling in love with Harlow because of it, and Harlow trying to open herself up to someone had me gripped to their story.

One of the reasons I loved this book so much was the fact that we got to see a lot of Rush and Blaire. Since the start of the series, a good chunk of time has already passed, and it's been great to see their relationship progress, as well as that of Woods and Della (although they don't feature as heavily). I loved seeing Grant's perspective of his interactions with Rush and Blaire after we'd seen their own perspectives in their books.

I adore Grant and Harlow and loved this part of their story. Abbi continues to deliver beautiful and steamy romances for the characters of Rosemary Beach. I can't get enough of these books, and I strongly urge anyone who is a fan of contemporary romance to get your hands on this series ASAP!
