Absolutely fascinating subject matter, but the story itself was disjointed and sloppy. Beginning with the poem about being underground, which only has a one-page payoff near the end of the book, and ending with a brief note on traffic signals, there really wasn't a coherent narrative to tie everything together. Again, though, the story of Garrett Morgan is incredible, and I wish the book had done him justice.
