The Last Vampire: Book Two by R.A. Steffan, Jaelynn Woolf

2.0

Okay. I gave in and read this one because it was easier to continue a bad series than start a new series. It still had a lot of the issues I found in the first book (taking place over only a few days yet its pace still snail-like, an incessant and miserable inner monologue from the main character, and an excess of forced and cringe-worthy wit.) but I enjoyed it a little bit more. I think it's because the characters are slowly growing on me, and the stakes felt much higher than in the first book. Like, it was mild, but I still felt something other than irritation while reading this so that's good.
I'm gonna keep reading this series I think, and I feel like that means I should rate this book higher, but it was a bad book and while I'm enjoying it enough, I'm not. Enjoying it.

SpoilerI kinda loved how the last two chapters were so chill LOL a nice break after literally fifty percent of the book was passed in a torture chamber. Zorah is so fucking annoying but I'm glad she felt better so quickly and got to chill in a vacay cottage.
