The Senator's Wife
by Liv Constantine
Two years ago Sloane and Senator Whit Montgomery lost their spouses in a tragic accident. Two years later they are remarried to each other. Sloane is having more and more difficulty with her Lupus and she and Whit decide to hire a home health aide to support her. They find Athena who not only acts as a nurse but offers to help with Sloane’s foundation as well. But as Sloane’s health continues to get worse, she becomes more paranoid.
I have loved the twisty suspense of Liv Constantine’s previous book, and since The Senator’s Wife is set in the already dramatic world of Capitol Hill, I knew I was in for a treat. This book was a slow burn while still being a quick read, with many twists (some of which I saw coming and others that completely surprised me). Some of it felt very unbelievable but if you can get past some very poor decision making, it makes for a wild ride.
Thank you to Ballantine Books for the advance copy.
