Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim

It was so easy to get lost in this world. Shiori was easy to like and I enjoyed experiencing her mature over time. I admired her resilience and determination, the curse didn’t physically stop her from speaking or making any kind of noise yet she was able to not make a sound?! Even when in pain? Whew! I appreciated the pacing with this story and how Shiori took that time to be observant and bring things into perspective even when everyone else didn’t agree with her. Even I, as the reader, was ready to throw hands with her stepmother and I didn’t care what her reasoning was 😂

I’m sure the second book will answer my questions but I’m curious to know more about her step mother and her magic. That quick summary in the end wasn’t enough for me, I’m nosy. I want to know more about the dragons and why magic disappeared. Im excited to read the next book and dive deeper into the dragon side of things!

Can’t wait!
