Goldenhand by Garth Nix
5.0
Garth Nix still has the power to captivate me, almost 2 decades later. I loved this continuation of the Old Kingdom series. My only complaint, like always, is that it was over too soon.
The sheer depth of the Old Kingdom world, the lore, the magic, and the masterfully crafted characters make this series and this book a delight to read.
"Goldenhand" returns to well known characters and introduces new faces; and Nix skillfully gives articulate voices to each character.
Nix's suspenseful storytelling makes for a thrilling and easy read for followers of the series. New readers will want to start at the beginning with "Sabriel".
I'm sure I am not alone in hoping there will be many more Old Kingdom books, delving into Free Magic and Charter entities and other great unknowns.
