The Midwife of Hope River by Patricia Harman

4.0

Midwifery scenes beautifully and authentically crafted. The relationships and plot also felt genuine. Loved about 85% of the novel. The historical background was too "stuck in." There was too much of it that interrupted the story. I hate it when authors assume their audience is completely uneducated. You didn't have to give me a definition of who the KKK is and what kinds of atrocities they've committed. Their presence and performance in the novel is enough.
