Naturalist: A Graphic Adaptation by Edward O. Wilson, Jim Ottaviani

adventurous hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

4.0

I enjoyed this book but I have a few detracting comments.  1) The print was too scrunched up and too small.  I don't want to puzzle out the difference between "1960" and "1980" over an extended period of time.
2) Sometimes I think the illustrator just didn't know what to draw. Men at a podium while the room slowly floods around them, though they are not speaking of climate change or flooding? Curious choice, and really points to over-wordiness.
3) I couldn't actually understand what his whole bit controversy in sociobiology was about.  I would have liked to sufficiently understand it to know whether I agreed with him or not, but I didn't get the gist of it.
On the positive side, this was a book about loving the planet and studying the small scurrying things (mostly ants), and we need more of that.
