LIVED UP TO THE HYPE
This book has been out just 3 months at the time of this review, and it seems to have taken over the world of books. It's everywhere! It kept popping upon my socials, and was front and center in every book store I entered.
The genre is what initially made me apprehensive, and the only thing that I trigued me in the blurb was "dragons".
Therefore, I didn't jump right in. I eventually ordered a sample on my Kindle and read that. That's all it took. I was in.
A lot of the hype seems to be around the romance that takes place, along with some spicy encounters. Unpopular opinion here: Although said romance is a huge part of the story, I would like the story almost just as well without it. It's the atmosphere of this story that kept me hooked.
I love how this story is set up and plays out. There are some BIG twists and turns I never saw coming. Just when Is think I might have something figured out...NOPE. It kept me riveted and reeling right down to the last sentence.
I have already preordered the sequel in The Empyrean series (as it has been termed), Iron Wing.
I haven't been this excited for a sequel since I was a teenager.
Give this story a try.
It's a breathtaking and exciting escape for the mind.
