Why We Broke Up
by Daniel Handler
Umm, I don't know what to exactly say, but I think the story was too slow-paced that all the things happening are not quite anticipating at all? I mean, this kind of a different angle of story were a protagonist is stating about the break up (which mostly happens once or twice in common books with repititive plot also normally with happy endings), but... I don't know, it was too much... Unnecessary information... Or just, something. Or just no....? Yes, Min was reliving all those memories because she was reminiscing and trying to get that or back to her ex-love with the items in the box, but I really just felt indifferent while reading this. Honestly, I was bored. Like I'm trying to comprehend something that in the end I wasn't supposed to know. At least the main reason for the break up was mentioned -- I think it was all about the "I can't stop thinking about you." with the roses. Although, this story could be started with, "Ed was an asshole. A jerk." And ended on Min's character development on how she handled the break up very well; with that I-really-don't-need-you attitude, that she was strong and all. Because at first, that was I thought this book was. Go, girls! But meh, no character development happened. Well, for me. :/
2.5/5, I tried it to enjoy it. And those pictures actually helped. Hehe, sorry!
PS. I just noticed that those exact same six words that made them up together will also break them apart. Ugh, Slaterton! -_____-
