Wow this memoir had me feeling so many emotions. This is memoir is about the author, Jeannette Walls and her family. She recounts her life from 3 years old to adulthood. She was raised in a very dysfunctional family with her three siblings. Her parents moved from town to town whenever trouble aroused or whenever her dad didn’t want to keep up with a job. Her mother was a free spirit artist who didn’t want any responsibility and her dad was a very intelligent man that loved to do research and invent things but was an alcoholic and abusive at times. Most of the time the children had to fend for themselves when their parents just didn’t care enough to find a job and provide. Most of it was very hard breaking. But Jeannette and her siblings grew up to be very resilient, hardworking, talented people. Even when life was hard on them they still found how to get out of that hole and make a life for themselves. ⁣
