The Stranger in the Library
by Eva Gates
What is it about Vicky Delany/Eva Gates' writing that absolutely hooks me? Believe me, I have tried to parse it out.
Her characters are so memorable and believable, the plotting has just enough twists to make sense but keep the solutions evasive, and all the little details make the Outer Banks (which I visit often) come to life.
I had forgotten that sometimes there are so many characters that I feel like I might need a reference guide, but eventually I calm down, because she is so good at making each one crystal clear and unique.
Anyway, this was another fun read, the perfect Beach Read, you might say (lol), with a peek into the shady side of the art world as a bonus.
