Good Lord if it wasn’t for my insistent OCD I wouldn’t read the next one.
I normally love YA books, even crappy ones, but this is like…bad crappy and not appealing crappy.
Luce gets flipped off by some rude, cold dude on first day of school and rather than the proper response of being like “wtf” and ignoring him, she’s like “I have to know more. I have to talk to him.” Yeah yeah, we find out she reincarnates every 17 years and they’re meant for each other or something (which is never explained how/why). Then Luce justifiably asks 10000 questions when things are finally revealed at the end and the angels refuse to answer them, which helps the reader not at all either. Through the entire book I kept frustratingly asking myself “a crumb of context??? Anywhere??? Please??”
Also almost all of the students were angels except Penn? Huh??
