I can’t do it. I tried, but if I keep trying to read this I’ll fall into a horrid slump. The writing is not the best and it feels forced rather than have a natural and flowing vibe. Honestly, it reads like a first draft needing more editing. It could just be that the author’s prose style isn’t for me as I have a challenging time connecting to most of her writing/works, which is totally okay. I accept that she may not be for me. While I couldn’t get into this, other fans of Aladdin, particularly the latest live-action adaptation, may have better luck.
