this book didn't really do anything for me, honestly. I love love LOVED the ending and the way the author injected hope into the story, and I thought the writing was beautiful, but I didn't really vibe with most of the characters. I found Frenchie really annoying, particularly when he started obsessing over Rose. I liked Rose but she didn't really feel like a character in her own right as much a a tool for his growth, and it kind of felt that way with all of the characters? all of the deaths too tbh. The only character who really got to be a character was Miigwans, which is why the ending hit so hard. but overall, something I enjoyed but not something I need to read again.
