Poor Things
by Alasdair Gray
The film mainly made people focus on the sensual and self-determination aspect of femininity, which is good. But the novel is so much more. It makes you think, it doesn't outright tell you what to think. It presents both sides of an argument - are you conservative or liberal? socialist or capitalist? I know where the author leans more towards but it leaves you to decide with your own judgment. It opens you up to discussions. That's the beauty of a novel.
