every time i finish a chaim potok i'm left in awe. (and for some reason i always finish them in school, so the students around me definitely get a show out of my emotions and reactions after finishing, lol). this book was incredible.
also, i wonder if jandy nelson has ever read this and if it inspired her in parts of IGYTS- because jacob kahn was totally guillermo and they made statues out of the sand and the fact asher paints in his head... come on, jandy im onto you.
