I am so torn on how to rate this book. I hated the main character. He was insufferable, self-pitying, and incapable of breaking the patterns that he was able to see. Everything he did made me want to throttle him for making such horrible decisions. It was also slog to read through depressing plot point after depressing plot point. The book started heavy and only got heavier, with no break from the monotony of pain.

But I loved the writing, and I would pick up another Jung Yun book in a heartbeat. I appreciate a downer novel and think if I'd been expecting it going in, it would have been a different experience.
