After the first book I was really worried that this book was going to be similar in the sense of pace and plot, but I was worried for nothing!

What I liked:
This has everything I enjoy in a fantasy, it has a plot, loveable characters, beautiful male warriors and a strong female and a protagonist who is fighting for herself… and most importantly…. sexual tension!!!
I felt like this book focuses on Auren building relationships with the people around her like soldiers of the army and the handsome Commander Rip, while adding to the history and past of the beautiful and mysterious world that Kennedy created. I found myself smiling throughout the entire book but it was the ending that made my face change from happy to intrigued.

What I did not like:
Even though this was an enjoyable read, it was not very impactful until the last 100 or so pages. If someone asked me “So, What was this book about?” I don’t know what I would say… honestly the first and second book became one in my mind so I don't know where one ends and the other begins.

Overall, I am very excited for the next book!
