Halo: The Rubicon Protocol by Kelly Gay
3.25
Rating: B
To enjoy this, you have to be ready for a lot of lingering issues from Infinite (Infinity getting wrecked by the Banished, the Spartans being less competent, the Endless), but a good Halo story overall. You really feel the characters getting the snot knocked out of them, physically and mentally, by the Banished as they struggle to find a footing on Zeta Halo. The action and character dynamics were solid, and I liked Boat Crew. Despite their lack of fighting prowess and disparate backgrounds, it was nice to see them come together and form a partnership and willingness to leap into danger for one another. Would've been nice to have some insight Atriox and whatever he was doing, but whatever.
