2.5 - Aaaaaaand again, another book I have mixed feelings about... There were parts that felt really original and fun, and parallel universes are obviously very intriguing, but there were also parts (a lot) that felt like an average apocalyptic Hollywood movie with lots of cliché dialogues and plotlines... Some sections were written brilliantly and were very believable, but others were really unbelievable and too far-fetched—almost pretentious, trying to be original and natural. I wish I could love it more, because it looked like my cup of tea at first glance! I listened to this, and I will still read or listen to the second book as well, because I think (and hopefully) this was just the world-building on the author's part to explore many more interesting and creative ideas that this could definitely lead to.
