I am a non-believer in second chance romance, but Dom and Alé are my exception! This shows the power of Ana Huang as a writer. She took my least favorite trope and made me so invested in the story. I loved seeing their flashbacks from their dating phase to their separation phase, which is how the book starts out. With the Kings of Sin series, I'm always wary that the male main character is going to be an asshole due to their chosen sin that they embody. Again, that is not the case with Dom. His greed is believable, and I wouldn't say it outweighs his good characteristics. He has a lot of growth in the book as does Alé.
So far, this is my second favorite book in the Kings of Sin Series, with King of Wrath being the first!
