I was excited about this book because queer vampires, but it was just so boring and read so much like a YA book that I could not get very far. The vampire lore was uninteresting, Wes was kind of insufferable, and it feels like it's trying to do some sort of social commentary with the vampires and failing miserably in a way that makes me cringe. The two main characters act so much like teenagers that I just can't get interested in any kind of romantic or sexual connection between them.
